Wheat Malpua recipe

Malpua is a crispy deep-fried flat pancake recipe that is dipped in the sugar syrup and served with Indian meals as a part of the dessert. The batter for malpua in some areas is prepared by crushing ripe bananas or (in Bangladesh) coconut, adding flour, and water or milk. The Bihari version of this dish has sugar added to the batter prior to frying.

You can serve malpua with chilled rabri. .Always serve malpua hot Or immedietely after making Otherwise malpua becomes soggy.You can fry malpua in oil too. I sometimes use the combination of equal amount of oil and ghee.

Methods
  • 1. Take a nonstick pan.
  • 2. Add sugar, cardamom, saffron and water in a pan.Cook till the syrup is of one string consistency.
  • 3. Keep aside.
  • 4. Take a mixing bowl and add whole wheat flour into it.
  • 5. Also, add Semolina.Add water slowly and mix well.
  • 6. you batter is ready. Make sure there are no lumps in the batter.
  • 7. cover the batter and keep aside for 10 to 15 mins.
  • 8. Mix the batter and pour a small ladle full in the hot ghee.
  • 9. Simmer the heat to low and fry the malpua on both the sides till golden brown.Remove from ghee and dip in the sugar syrup for 2 minutes.
  • 10. Serve hot with Rabdi.
