MTR has improved on their rice mix offering. Rice is fuller and softer. This makes for a good ready to eat meal
The mix however does not taste as good as rice and sambar cooked separately. Tastes good if you add a little curd while eating. I noticed Ghee in the ingredients. MTR needed to do away with adding Ghee. Ghee tastes good if its added fresh.
I always carry several RTEs by MTR in my suitcase when I am travelling - tasty vegetarian meals in a flash, especially if you like food that is a bit spicy, like me. The other MTR meals I tried were also great.
I love Pav Bhaji so I make it often in my kitchen so it becomes very easy to make it by using MTR ready to Eat Pav Bhaji. It gives perfect taste and texture. Perfect colour of Pav Bhaji can be achieved by it. Also it makes it spicy so we need to add it accordingly. Its packet is also handy n occupies less space n can be preserved easily. The sweetness in MTR Badam Drink Mix is very balanced; the elaichi tastes fresh but does not overpower the flavor of almonds. The little bits of badaam, the chunks of badaam are also crunchy. There are very small pieces of badaam floating around, that you enjoy with each sip.
Read reviews and through this would be quite tasty. Was ok and price compared to grocery was better but probably no better taste than what you can find in you local chain grocery store.
The tamarind proportion is perfect. It is not very spicy but that would amount to individual taste preference. Nothing would beat a traditional home made puliogare, but if you like the the tangy taste of tamarind and do not have the patience to make from scratch at home, you certainly would enjoy this one.
I have tried many MTR products . I had high hopes for this also but the flavour is OK no that great as what I was expecting . The flavour is bland and leaves a lot to desire. Although if one alters the recipe given behind then one can get quite tasty sambhar.
This masala mix has a perfect blend of salt, spices, and tangy flavors. You can add this masala after frying all the vegetables and cook until the masala is well absorbed followed by adding rice. This masala also adds a very peculiar aroma to the pulao. It comes at a very economical cost and has a good storage time.
