Ingredients For Sarso ka Saag Recipe

Methods
  • 1. Wash properly all the greens. Chop roughly, ( make sure that all the greenleaves are cleaned and washedthoroughly).
  • 2. In a heavy bottom big sauce pan, add1/2 water. Bring it a boil. Add all the chopped greens, radish, green chillies, garlic 1/4 tsp salt, turmeric powder in it.
  • 3. Cook it on low medium heat for 10 minutes. Stir and mash. Repeat this process until saag is cooked completelyand is mashed. It will take 1 hr minimum.(you can also pressure cook it for 3-4whistles).
  • 4. Add maize flour in it. Mix it well. Cook for 3-4 minutes.
  • 5. Heat ghee in a pan. Add chopped onion in it. Cook until it becomes translucent. Add ginger, cook until itbecomes brown. Now add chopped tomatoes. Cook on medium heat for 3-4minutes until tomatoes are mushy.
  • 6. Add cooked, mashed saag. Mix it well. Add little hot water if needed. Turn off the flame.
  • 7. Before serving give it final tadka. Heat 1 tbsp ghee in a tadka pan. Add dry red chilli and cumin seeds. Let it crackle. Add asafotedia and kashmiri red chilli.
  • 8. Pour this tadka over the saag, And serve.
