In a pan mix milk and milk powder without switching on the flame.

Once it is milked properly and is free of lumps turn on the stove to lowest.

Now add 2 tbsp ghee and kesar to it. Mix it well.

Keep mixing until the mixture starts thickening.

Once it has thickened add the remaining ghee and sugar.

Mix well until sugar dissolves. It it sticks to ends of pan add a little ghee and take this mixture in a bowl.

Once it's a little warm and your able to manage it make roundels and with help of two fingers give it a shape like modak. Then with a fork make lines on it. Your tasty modaks are ready.

I haven't added any flavor here but you can add elaichi powder, chocolate powder, pista etc. During the third step.
