Alsi Ki Pinni Recipe

Pinni is a type of Punjabi and North Indian cuisine dish that is eaten mostly in winters. It is served as a dessert and is made from desi ghee. Pinni is also a general term for desserts or sweets prepared in a round shape balls which we all say laddoo. Flax seeds pinni is prepared with flax seeds, edible gum and lots of ghee and dry fruits. You can store them for several days and have a pinni daily either after dinner or anytime in a day to stay fit,  So, try out making alsi pinni at home with these easy recipe.

Methods
  • 1. In wok dry roast flaxseeds about 10 to 12minute on medium flame. Keep sauteing until it's become crispy and crunchy. Transfer into a plate.
  • 2. Heat Nova shudh ghee in same kadhai, fry cashewnuts until golden brown. Take out fried cashew into a plate.
  • 3. Now fry fox nuts until it turn crispy. When it's done, transfer it into a plate.
  • 4. In remain ghee deep fry edible gum. When edible gum start pop up and get crispy like fried sabudana papad. Immediately, transfer it in plate. Switch off the flame and let all the ingredients completely cool down.
  • 5. Take mixer grinder jar, add roasted flaxseeds, fried cashewnuts, fox nuts, edible gum in jar and grind all together finely. Transfer it in large mixing bowl.
  • 6. In frying process ½ a cup ghee will remain in wok. Now in the same wok (with the ghee) Add wheat flour (gehun ka aata).Fry the flour on medium heat until it is brown and turn aromatic. It takes about 8 to 10 minutes to fry.
  • 7. Switch off the flame. Add jaggery syrup in flour and mix it well.
  • 8. Transfer flour into alsi mixture bowl. Start making lemon size balls.
  • 9. So here is our winter special alsi ki pinni ready to eat. Store it in airtight container
