Chocolaty Rosy Mohonbhog Tart Recipe

Mohonbhog is a Bengali dessert which is actually suji halwa made with ghee, milk, sugar & lots dry fruits. To make it more interesting I have used rose essence & for colour beetroot juice & then serve it with small tart.

Ingredients For Chocolaty Rosy Mohonbhog Tart Recipe

Methods
  • 1. In a mixing bowl, take butter & sugar . Mix it well till the sugar melt.
  • 2. Add maida, Coco powder & baking powder. Knead it well. Add chilled milk gradually & make a hard dough of it. Cover it & keep it in fridge for 15 minutes.
  • 3. After that take out from fridge & knead it again. Don't over knead. Divide it into small equal portion.Roll it with a roller pin & make small round. Place the rounds in tart mould & press the rounds gently around the sides of the mould.Prick all over the tart with the help of a fork.
  • 4. Bake it in preheated oven for 10 to 12minutes at 150°C.Tart is ready now.
  • 5. For Mohonbhog, heat Nova ghee in a pan & add suji in it. Fry it in ghee till you feel the aroma. Then add milk & dry fruits.
  • 6. When it will start to boil, add sugar, beetroot juice & rose essence. Stir it constantly in low flame. Cook it till thick.
  • 7. Once it's ready make it cool for few minutes.
  • 8. Take tart now, fill it with Mohonbhog & decorate with cashew nuts, chopped almonds & raisin.
  • 9. Keep it in fridge for 15 minutes & enjoy chilled.
