Winters call for hot hot Halwas. Here i have 2 versions of Lauki ka Halwa one the regular ad the other slightly roasted for more robust flavors. Do try this my version

This is a slow processed Halwa so don't rush

Ingredients For Lauki Ka Halwa Recipe

Methods
  • 1. First peel and grate the lauki and set aside
  • 2. Heat 2 tbs Nova ghee in a pan and shallow fry the lauki till it shanges it colour
  • 3. Now add the milk,cream, condensed milk and sugar
  • 4. Cover and let it cook till the entire milk evaporates
  • 5. Add the cardamom pwdr and adjust the sweetness if required
  • 6. Now make some space in the middle of the pan and add 2 tbsp Nova ghee
  • 7. Once the ghee is melted add the raisins ,sliced Almonds and Chironji
  • 8. Fry for till they turn crispy and then mix them with the halwa
  • 9. Now saute the Halwa till the ghee separates
  • 10. Our regular Lauki Halwa is ready to be served
  • 11. In a pan add 2 to 3 tbsp ghee and fry some halwa till golden brown .I love this version of halwa where it's sauted a little longer till the colour changes to golden brown.
  • 12. Mae sure to keep the flame slow and roast the halwa slowly while stirring all the time
