At the time of grinding the dal try to use cold water. Batter should be thick and groundedfine.

Ingredients For Medu Vada Recipe

Methods
  • 1. Soak the urad dal minimum for 4hours. Drain excess water. Transfer it to mixer grinder, grind until the batter becomes fluffy and smooth.
  • 2. As per requirement add water. Do not add too much water. Batter should be thick.
  • 3. Transfer the batter in a bowl. Add all the ingredients.Mix and whisk well.
  • 4. Heat oil in a wok. Wet your fingers, take some batter in your hand, give it flatten ball shape.
  • 5. Now make a hole in the centre using your thumb. Slid the Vada gently in the hot oil.
  • 6. Deep fry it on low medium flame till it turns golden brown and crispy.
  • 7. Make all vadas by the same method.
