This my grandmother's desi, Rajasthani traditional dish loaded with desi ghee and the richness of dal. It has a different taste and a mind boggling texture.

Ingredients For Steam Dal Pulda Recipe

Methods
  • 1. Soak Moong Chilka in water for 8 hours. Then, rinse it and remove the husk from the dal.
  • 2. Remove the water and the husk from the dal and grind it in a mixer until it's coarse.
  • 3. Take a fresh big bowl (preferably a crucible) and add the grinded dal to it with Turmeric, Salt, Chilly Flakes, Coriander seeds, Chopped coriander leaves, chopped green chillies.
  • 4. Mix them for 5 minutes until the mixture becomes fluffy.
  • 5. Take a big deep utensil and fill it partially with water. Place a lentil strainer on it. Take a plate or a thaali as big as the strainer, and grease it with ghee or oil.
  • 6. Spread the batter on this plate and place it upside down on the big deep utensil and place it on a medium to high flame.
  • 7. Let it steam for 3 to 5 minutes and then load it with ghee and now your steam dal pulda is ready!
  • 8. This is best served with green pudina chutney, tomato ketchup.
