Ingredients For Steamed Puli Pithe Recipe

Methods
  • 1. In a pan, boil 1cup water and add salt.  Stir in the rice flour and mix well to make a lump free dough.
  • 2. Allow the dough to cool. Knead the dough and make it smooth.
  • 3. Heat a pan on medium flame and add coconut. Saute it continuously by adding date palm jaggery. Add nestle milkmaid. Then add milk and stir well till the milk evaporates. Switch off and keep aside.
  • 4. Make small sized balls and roll into circles with fingertips. Stuff the coconut-jaggery filling in the center.
  • 5. Seal the edges and give the pithes desired shapes.
  • 6. Now heat water in a steamer and allow the pithes to get steamed for 5 minutes.
  • 7. Steamed puli pithe are ready to serve.
