Kansar Recipe

Kansar is a sweet dessert from Gujarat. Kansar to guests is considered a sign of respect in Gujarati culture. During five days of Diwali different fresh specialty meals are traditionally cooked on each day of the festival in Gujarat, on the first day of Diwali, Dhanteras which is associated with wealth, prepare Kansar for good luck.

Methods
  • 1. Roast broken wheat in a pan for 2 minutes.
  • 2. Take water in a pan and bring it to boil.
  • 3. Add oil now add the roasted broken wheat.
  • 4. Close the lid and Cook on a slow heat stirring constantly for 6-7 minutes or till the time the wheat is cooked.
  • 5. Sprinkle powdered sugar and ghee before serving and garnish with chopped dry fruits and rose petals.
