Ingredients For Dal Pakwaan Recipe

Methods
  • 1. Wash and soak chana dal in water for 4-5 hours.
  • 2. In a small pressure cooker heat oil. Add cumin seeds. When crackles add asafoetida and soaked chana dal. Saute for sometimes. Add salt, turmeric powder and red chili powder. Mix well. Add enough water. ( Add water only to soak chana dal. Grains should be cooked yet separated).
  • 3. Close with lid and cook till 4-5 whistles. Then transfer into a bowl. Dal is ready.
  • 4. In a mixing bowl take all purpose flour. Add salt, cumin seeds and oi. Combine well and knead stiff dough with enough water. Rest for 15 minutes.
  • 5. Prepare equal size bigger balls from it. Roll out puris and prick with fork or knife. Deep fry in hot oil till golden brown and crisp. Pakwaan is ready. Serve with dal.
  • 6. Assembling:- In a plate take pakwaan. Apply some dal on it. Apply coriander chutney and date tamarind chutney. Spread some chopped onion, tomato, coriander leaves and Sev. Enjoy.
