Rinse the rice with water multiple times till the water runs clear. Soak in ample amount of water for 60 minutes.

Heat up ghee in a heavy bottom skillet over medium heat. Temper with cardamom, cloves, cinnamon,peppercorns and bay leaves. Add cashews and raisins and fry until light brown.Add the vegetables one by one stirring continuously.
