Wash and soak moong dal in sufficient water. Heat ghee in a pan or cooker.

Add hing and cumin seed. When it's crackled add onion till softened. Add all veggies and sauteed for 2 minutes on medium flame. Add tomato and saute till it turns soft.

Drain the water from dal and add. Mix and cook for 2 minutes. Add oats, salt and all spices and mix well.

Pour water. You can adjust the quantity of water to make it mushy or slightly grainy. On a medium flame cook for 10 minutes.

Dal has to cook completely. Adding more water as needed. Remove from heat and serve hot.
