  • 2. Heat oil in a pressure cooker. Add garlic and green chilis. Saute till garlic turns light brown.
  • 3. Add onions and saute till they turn transparent. Add tomatoes and saute for a minute.
  • 4. Add chana dal, spinach leaves, dill and sorrel. Add all spices and mix well.
  • 5. Put on cooker’s lid and cook then for 2-3 whistles and let it pressure cook for 10 minutes after you turn off the heat (there is no need to add any water).
  • 6. Mash all the vegetables lightly with back of wooden spoon or blitz it with hand blender (don’t mash it completely, you should be able to see chanal dal).
  • 7. Serve hot
