Tandoori Crepe/Chilla Recipe

The concept gradually spread throughout the country, to be followed by an interest in preparing Indian food at home - many inspired by the TV prgrammes and books of Madhur Jaffrey. Chilla is a kind of pancake, made with Gram/ Besan flour. This flour is made with ground chickpeas.

Ingredients For Tandoori Crepe/Chilla Recipe

Methods
  • 1. In a pan add cumin seeds,coriander seeds,black cardamom,cloves,black pepper,mustard seeds,Kasuri methi and roast them properly.
  • 2. Remove and cool a little.
  • 3. Now add this to a grinder jar with some salt and make a fine powder.
  • 4. Remove it in a bowl and add deggi red chilli powder,dried mango powder,asafoetida,chaat masala and mix everything properly.
  • 5. In a bowl add the prepared tandoori masala,curd,ginger-garlic paste,mustard oil and mix it properly.
  • 6. Meanwhile keep a coal on the flames to burn. Once hot keep it in a small bowl add cloves and ghee.
  • 7. Place it in the bowl of mixture and cover it for 5-6 minutes.
  • 8. In a bowl add all the chopped vegetables and the prepared marination and mix it will
  • 9. keep aside for 10 minutes.
  • 10. Now heat a pan on high heat and saute the marinated vegetables for 4-5 minutes (and do char them a little).
  • 11. In a bowl add besan,prepared marination,water,baking soda,oil and make a smooth batter.
  • 12. Heat a flat pan on medium heat and add a big spoon of batter and spread it evenly
  • 13. add some ghee and cook until golden brown
  • 14. Now on one side add the filling and some grated cheese and fold it .
  • 15. Serve it with green chutney and veggies salad
